A battle between Tyron Woodley and Nate Marquardt will determine a new Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, the title was vacated by Nick Diaz. Woodley has been undefeated thus far in Strikeforce and was considered the top contender when Nick Diaz vacated the title. Marquardt has not competed in over a year, since being released from the UFC after issues with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission. Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Kennedy takes place on July 14th at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon with Luke Rockhold and Tim Kennedy headlining.
