Due to the injury to Brian Stann, Hector Lombard has pulled from the main event of UFC On Fox IV and instead viewers will get Mauricio Rua versus Brandon Vera in the main event. Rua is coming off of a 2011 “Fight Of The Year†candidate against Dan Henderson at UFC 139, a fight that Rua lost. Vera recently got back into the win column in the UFC with a victory over Elliot Marshall at UFC 137.
In order to put this main event together, Vera had to be pulled from an upcoming UFC On Fuel TV IV fight against James Te Huna. There is no word yet on who will be replacing Vera in that fight, but an announcement from the UFC is expected shortly. UFC On Fox IV takes place on August 4th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California with the aforementioned fight headlining.
