Former Strikeforce light Heavyweight Champion Rafael Cavalcante has tested positive for a banned substance following his May Strikeforce fight against Mike Kyle. According to the California State Athletic Commission, Cavalcante will be fined $2,500 and suspended one year. Prior to the suspension, Cavalcante was expected to fight Gegard Mousassi this Fall for the vacated Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Championship. There is now word yet on what will happen to the title picture or what Cavalcante’s future will be in the sport.
