UFC ON FUEL TV IV FACEBOOK CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 7/9/2012 9:56 PM

There is little rest for us UFC fans as we head into UFC On Fuel TV IV, which comes a mere four days after the UFC 148 pay-per-view. This event features a potential title eliminator as Mark Munoz will face Chris Weidman in the main event. However, there is a stacked preliminary card that will be airing on Facebook that features a few top featherweight and bantamweight contenders.

Kicking off the action is a featherweight division contest as Raphael Assuncao (17-4-0) is in action against Issei Tamura (7-2-0). Raphael Assuncao has split both of his fights in the UFC, defeating Johnny Eduardo and suffering a defeat to Erik Koch. Issei Tamura is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Tiequan Zhang at UFC 144. This is a great battle between two rising contenders in the division and it will be Raphael Assuncao ending the run of Issei Tamura in this fight.

Middleweights will be competing next as Marcelo “Magrao” Guimaraes (7-0-0) competes against Dan “The Anvil” Stittgen (7-2-0). Marcelo Guimaraes is an undefeated fighter who has spent the majority of his MMA career in the Jungle Fight promotion. Dan Stittgen is currently winless in UFC competition, having suffered a defeat to Stephen Thompson at UFC 143. This is a must win fight for Dan Stittgen, but he will not get the job done as Marcelo Guimaraes earns the win here.

Another middleweight division fight is up next as Andrew Craig (7-0-0) takes on Rafael “Sapo” Natal (14-3-0). Andrew Craig is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Kyle Noke back at UFC On FX II. Rafael Natal has won two straight heading into this fight, most notably defeating Paul Bradley at UFC 133. The winner of this fight should be moving up to bigger fights in the promotion and that fighter getting them will be Rafael Natal.

Up next is a bantamweight division fight as Chris “Kamikaze” Cariaso (13-3-0) faces Josh “Taz” Ferguson (8-4-0). Chris Cariaso has won three of four in UFC competition, with that lone loss coming to retired UFC veteran Matt Hamill. Josh Ferguson is currently winless in UFC competition, having lost to Roland Delorme at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale. Chris Cariaso has looked pretty good in his last few outings and that will continue as he picks up the victory here.

Headlining this portion of the card is a bantamweight division fight as Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres (6-5-0) battles “The Angel Of Death” Damacio Page (15-7-0). Alex Caceres has only won one of four in UFC competition, with that lone victory coming over Cole Escovedo. Damacio Page is currently winless in UFC competition, with those losses coming to both Brian Bowles and Brad Pickett. This is essentially a battle to avoid the pink slip for both fighters and it will be Damacio Page doing so in the end.
