AIW Presents “Girls Night Out 7” Press Release

By Alyssa Kay

Absolute Intense Wrestling of Cleveland, Ohio will be back for another showcase of some of the best women’s wrestling in North America with Girls Night Out 7! And just when you didn’t think the matches could be any more intense, any more brutal than they have been before, just wait until you see what’s in store this time! The show will take place on Saturday, August 4, with a bell time of 7:30 PM at Turner’s Hall on 7325 Guthrie Avenue in Cleveland. Tickets are still just $15 each and the seats are first come, first serve.

AIW brings forth a stocked card of talented female wrestlers. This time, the current line-up includes a look at some of the following match-ups:

Steel Cage Match for the Women’s Championship, Allysin Kay (c ) vs. Mia Yim: The current reigning AIW Women’s Champion Allysin Kay has had a bloody history this past year in AIW with Yim. After a brawl that left Kay’s nose broken at Girls Night Out 5, followed by an equally brutal Fans-Bring-The-Weapons match at Girls Night Out 6, Kay won a championship that didn’t sit so well with either wrestler due to an interference from Flexor Industries. The rematch – this time in a steel cage, in which the winner must be victorious through either pinfall or submission – is sure to be their most vicious match-up yet.

No Time Limit, Sara Del Rey vs. Hailey Hatred: Two internationally established professional wrestlers, not only in female wrestling but in all of professional wrestling will meet for what could be the last time. According to that of PWInsider, Sara del Rey has been given a developmental contract by the WWE and with this match as allegedly one of Queen of Wrestling’s last battles on the independent circuits, there’s no doubt that Hailey Hatred won’t let her go down without the fight of her life…and career. Regardless, both women have topped companies such as Shimmer, CHIKARA, REINA, and more with their Joshi and Lucha Libre influences. With no time limit here, the fans will be in for a display of some of the best wrestling they’ve ever seen in their lives.

Cherry Bomb vs. Athena: One of the crowd favorites, Cherry Bomb, returns to AIW to take on the winner of the annual ACW 2012 Queen of Queens Tournament, Athena. The Wrestling Goddess, known not just for her accomplishments in the southwest but also in Shimmer and WSU, is making her debut for AIW in search of a new territory to explore and conquer. Of course, to do this, she’ll have to get through a rather explosive opponent in Cherry Bomb!

Tag-Team Action! Miss Heidi and Angeldust vs. Nikki St. John and Annie Social (with Sammy Geodollno): For the first time ever we will see women’s tag team action at Girls Night Out 7! Miss Heidi, a returning competitor will team with former AIW Women’s Champion Angeldust to take on the likes of Annie Social and Nikki St. John. In addition to this being the first women’s tag match in AIW, it appears that it was pushed on heavily by none other than the rowdy Sammy Geodollno – who will be managing the team of Social and St. John – and is one more obstacle that could potentially get in the way of victory for Angeldust and Ms. Heidi.

“Crazy” Mary Dobson vs. Lil Naughty: Having only debuted for AIW in January at Girls Night Out 5, “Crazy” Mary Dobson has become a fan favorite with her hardcore style. Under the tutelage of Mad Man Pondo, Dobson recently competed in a women’s deathmatch against Trash Cassidy at Girls Night Out 6 in April. Taking shots from staplers, chairs, ten-gallon jugs, and light tubes, Mary Dobson is not one to be taken lightly. Lil Naughty – an Ohio native who has worked several years on the scene – will be debuting for AIW with what may or may not be a baptism by fire. Currently there are no additional stipulations for this match, but as the AIW faithfuls know, it’s never to be counted out at the live event.

Veda Scott vs. Courtney Rush: Courtney Rush will be another new-comer to AIW. The former Shimmer star was in a former tag team with Sara del Rey where the pair where the pair most recently lost their championships to the Canadian NINJAS. This certainly has put Rush into a position where she’s been forced to buckle down, and work harder than ever. Will her history with Del Rey come into play at all during any point of the show? Additionally, Veda Scott has had wins of her own in previous Girls Night Out events, but will she be strong enough competitor to take down Rush? Recently, Scott has also appeared at Absolution 7, working alongside Gregory Iron as his legal consultant. Together, Iron and Scott seemed moderately displeased with AIW’s latest “Absolute Intern” project, which resulted in the pair verbally attacking the four prospective AIW interns as well as physically attacking one of them. Will Iron be there to support his consultant?

Melanie Cruise vs. Kimber Lee: The CZW Bombshell Kimber Lee has made quite a positive impression on the AIW fans in 2012. Putting in great matches against Veda Scott and Jennifer Blake at the last shows, but has yet to win a match in AIW. Cruise won her debut match against Taylor Made in April at Girls Night Out 6, and her size and strength put her on the list as one of the toughest competitors on the entire card. Lee will need to work even harder than before, and even with the crowd pulling for her, she may need some real David-versus-Goliath skill to manage the victory with the odds far from in her favor.

Sassy Steph (with Chest Flexor) vs. Leah von Dutch: Sassy Steph has appeared on and off AIW shows for a period of time now, and her most recent in-ring performance at Girls Night Out 6 saw her take on Cherry Bomb. With her strong alliance in Flexor Industries, several members of the stable had her back throughout the match, but it still wasn’t enough to give Steph the victory. But against newcomer Leah von Dutch? Having Chest Flexor and Flexor Industries in her corner might just be the advantage she needs. The Amsterdam native has worked for a short period of time on the independent circuits (CLASH, Classic Championship Wrestling, and in CHIKARA taking two falls to Sara del Rey) and will need to bring a level-head to the ring if she wants to outsmart her opponents.

More matches will be announced periodically as August the 4th draws closer and closer! Keep an eye on AIW’s website (aiwrestling.com), Facebook (Absolute Intense Wrestling), and Twitter (@aiwrestling) and of course check out shop.aiwrestling.com for tickets and previous Girls Night Out DVDs.
