Longtime MMA veteran and journeyman fighter Sherman Pendergarst has passed away at the age of 45 due to colon cancer. Pendergarst had fought many off the top names in MMA like Carmelo Marrera, Justin Eilers, Antoni Hardonk, Shane Carwin, Tim Hague, Joey Beltran, Houston Alexander and Razak Al-Hassan. Pendergarst finished his MMA career with a record of 11-18-0-1NC, with his last fight being a no contest with Bruce Nelson at a Crowbar MMA event. Besides a short stint in the UFC, Pendergarst also competed in Bellator, Adrenaline MMA, King Of The Cage and many other promotions. Pendergarst primarily trained with Team Miletech in Iowa, which is run by former UFC Welterweight Champion and current Strikeforce commentator Pat Miletech.
