A Strikeforce Lightweight Title fight as champion Gilbert Melendez will be defending his belt against Pat Healy. Melendez is coming off of a successful title defense over Josh Thomson, which was the third fight in their epic trilogy. Healy will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, most notably defeating UFC veteran Maximo Blanco at Strikeforce: Barnett vs. Kharitonov. Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy takes place on September 29th at the Power balance Pavilion in Sacramento, California with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
