Frank Mir, who will be making a one-time appearance in the Strikeforce promotion to battle Strikeforce Heavyweight grand Prix Champion Daniel Cormier. Mir is coming off of a UFC Heavyweight Title fight loss to Junior Dos Santos, which happened back at UFC 146. Cormier will be competing for the first time since winning the Strikeforce Heavyweight grand Prix, where he defeated Josh Barnett in the finals. At one point, Cormier was slated to fight former UFC Heavyweight Champion Tim Sylvia, but UFC President Dana White quickly shot down those rumors. Strikeforce: Cormier vs. Mir will be taking place sometime this October, but no official date or venue has been announced as of this writing.
