Due to the injury to Bellator Featherweight Champion Pat Curran, top contender Patricio Freire has been scratched from this Friday’s event. In place of that fight on the MTV2 Main Card will be a light heavyweight fight between Matt Van Buren and Mike Mucitelli. Van Buren is an undefeated fighter who holds a victory over Strikeforce veteran Brandon Saling at a May 2011 event. Mucitelli is an undefeated fighter who has finished both of his opponents in the opening round, those opponents were Steve Skrzat and Eddie Hardison. Bellator 73 takes place on August 24th at the Harrah’s Tunica Hotel & Casino in Tunica, Mississippi with Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira headlining.
