Reigning Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert Melendez has suffered an injury and is off of this Saturday’s Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Healy event. With that being said, Showtime officials have decided not to air the remainder of the card and as a result, the whole card has been cancelled. This is a situation similar to the UFC 151 fiasco, which came as a result of a Dan Henderson injury. Other notable fighters on the card were Josh Thomson, Pat Healy, Jorge Santiago, Jorge Gurgel, Amanda Nunes, Mike Kyle and others. There is no word yet on when the fights will be scheduled or if another event will be added to the schedule to replace this event.
