By Dave Willis on 9/26/2012 9:05 AM

At a unique benefit show for homeless veterans at the Hapeville Recrecreation Center outside Atlanta, GA that included performances by many folks ranging from local kids dancing and rapping to a boxing match to a performance by American Idol performer General Larry Platt who perfomed "Pants on the Ground" live, Former Atlanta Braves Pitcher John Rocker made his wrestling debut.

In the Main event of the wrestling show, Former Atlanta Braves Pitcher John Rocker was victorious in his first match as Rocker teamed with Rocky King to defeat Mr. Hughes and Chris Silvers (Managed by "It's still real to me" Dave Wills) when Rocker pinned Silvers after a clothesline. After the match, Hughes and Silvers jumped King and attacked him, King ducked, Hughes hit Silvers. Then Rocker made the save by detroying Silvers, then nailing Hughes to clear the ring of both Heels.

Rocker and King were cheered heavily by the racially diverse crowd in attendance.

After the match, Mr. Hughes with Manager Wills challened Rocker to a singles match. Fans popped for the challenge and Rocker accepted the match to loud cheers from the audience. Rocker will face Hughes in his first pro wrestling singles match which should take place in November at the same location.
