Longtime Japanese stalwart Michihiro Omigawa has been released by the UFC following a UFC On Fox IV loss to Manny Gamburyan. Omigawa has only won one of five in the UFC, with that lone victory coming over Jason Young at UFC 138. Besides the Gamburyan loss, Omigawa also suffered defeats in the UFC to Chad Mendes, Darren Elkins and Luri Alcantara.
