Current Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey has signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championships. This is a historic deal for both Rousey and the UFC, as she becomes the first female MMA fighter to ever sign with the promotion. Since Rousey is the current Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion, the title will be moved to the UFC with her and be referred to as the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title. There is no word yet on when Rousey will make her UFC debut, but it should happen sometime in early 2013.
