MATT MITRIONE STEPS IN AT THE UFC ULTIMATE FIGHTER 16 FINALE

Following a knee injury to Shane Carwin, Matt Mitrione has agreed to step in and fight Roy Nelson at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. Mitrione will be looking to rebound from his first career defeat, which came to Cheick Kongo at UFC 137. Nelson has won two of his last three entering the fight, most notably defeating Mirko Cro Cop back at UFC 137. Mitrione was originally set to face Philip De Fries at UFC 155 prior to the opponent change, De Fries will get a new opponent. UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale takes place on December 15th at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
