UFC, WEC and Elite XC veteran Javier Vazquez has announced his retirement from professional MMA, he retires with a record of 16-5-0. Vazquez last competed at UFC On Versus IV, where he defeated Joe Stevenson by unanimous decision. Throughout his MMA career, Vazquez fought the likes of Alberto Crane, Robert Emerson, LC Davis, Jens Pulver, Chad Mendes and Joe Stevenson. Vazquez actually retired with a few fights left on his UFC contract, which he earned following the closure of the WEC promotion.
