A UFC Lightweight Title Fight between champion Ben Henderson and Gilbert Melendez, also Daniel Cormier battles Frank Mir. Henderson has successfully defended the championship twice already, defeating Frankie Edgar and Nate Diaz. Melendez is the reigning Strikeforce Lightweight Champion and has held the title for well over three years.
Cormier was the winner of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix, having defeated Josh Barnett in the finals. Mir is coming off of a UFC Heavyweight Title loss to former champion Junior Dos Santos, the fight happened at UFC 146. UFC On Fox VII takes place on April 20th from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California with the UFC Lightweight Title Fight headlining.
