Former Strikeforce Women’s Featherweight Champion Cristiane “Cyborg†Santos has asked for her release from the UFC, according to manager Tito Ortiz. Santos was brought over to the UFC following the closure of Strikeforce, she has several fights left on her contract. Since coming over to the UFC, there has been strong rumors suggestion a bout between UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey and “Cyborgâ€, but that may never happen now. The main sticking point between the UFC and “Cyborg†is her weight cutting issues, having to drop from 145 pounds to 135 pounds, a thing the fighters claims she cannot do without risking her health.
