Mafia Series Launches on Indiegogo with Wrestler Gene Snisky

NEW YORK, February 12 -- "STOONAD, ITALIAN FOR STUPID" premiered on Indiegogo today, starring former WWE Superstar and WXW Hall of Fame inductee Gene Snisky.

Stoonad is a hilarious reality game series based on the first ever Mafia-themed social media site and gaming platform, www.MafiaMob.com, which was launched in 1999. In touch with the times, Stoonad replaces violence with funny gags and ridiculous competitions based on mob shows and movies. Contestants go head to head to win cash prizes delivered in a paper brown bag and a busted up classic Cadillac.

"We wanted to create a "hybrid format" by blending social networking, reality TV, and gaming into one interesting experience" said Creator Ron Gastelu.

The show has been in development over the past three years and has been reviewed by many network executives who had a lot of laughs. Two networks left the door open to return after a web series release.

Actor/Producer Chris Chiarmonte, who appeared on VH1's "Mob Wives," is currently casting for the "The Stoonad Godmother" role, an original fun twist on the godfather stereotype. Chiarmonte was an original MafiaMob player who whacked a Don in the game, and went on to produce many other mob genre products.

The cast is comprised of a combination of the "least likely" people to be in the Mafia and a few that really look the part. Stoonad will also invite online game players to step in during the season whenever someone is whacked. Keeping true to the hybrid concept, the producers are inviting their followers on the web and the game to get involved with casting additional "Stoonads" over the next few weeks at www.Stoonad.com.

MafiaMob.com was launched as a Mafia game and social site in 1999 and has been heard across America on shock jock programs including Opie & Anthony and Howard Stern. The site launched www.MafiaMob.TV in the summer of 2008 and it created a big buzz by using game players as actors. This led to the development of the hybrid series "Whack Everybody" now called "Stooand".

Indiegogo is an international crowd funding site founded by Danae Ringelmann, Slava Rubin, and Eric Schell in 2008. it has hosted over 100,000 funding campaigns in areas such as music, charity, small business and film.
