Fresh off of a tournament final victory over Rad Martinez, Shahbulat Shamhalaev has agreed to step in for the injured Daniel Strauss to challenge Pat Curran for the featherweight title at Bellator 95. Shahbulat earned the title shot after winning the season seven featherweight tournament, defeating the aforementioned Martinez in the finals. Curran has successfully defended to gold once already, defeating Patricio Freire by split decision at Bellator 85. Bellator 95 is taking place on April 4th from The Revel in Atlantic City, New Jersey with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
