Longtime UFC veteran Jason “The Athlete†MacDonald has announced his retirement as a professional MMA fighter. MacDonald will retire with a record of 25-16-0, he stated that he wants to focus on his family and running his gym. Throughout his fourteen year career, MacDonald fought the likes of Matt Horwich, Jason Brilz, Marvin Eastman, Shonie Carter, Joe Doerkson, Kalib Starnes, Patrick Cote, Ed Herman, Chris Leben, Rich Franklin, Yushin Okami, Damian Maia, Nate Quarry, Travis Lutter, Alan Belcher and Tom Lawlor. MacDonald’s last professional MMA fight came at UFC On Fuel TV III, he was knocked out by Tom Lawlor in the first round.
