This weekend will see one of the biggest rivalries in recent UFC history come to a conclusion when Georges St. Pierre battles Nick Diaz. The UFC’s return to Canada is definitely worth checking out and the same can be said about the fights that will be streaming live on Facebook. There will be three fights airing live on the social media website, including a key battle in the welterweight division.
Kicking off the action is a bantamweight division fight as Reuben Duran (8-4-1) battles George Roop (12-9-1). Duran has only won one of three in UFC competition, with that lone victory coming over Francisco Rivera at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale. Roop will be competing as a bantamweight for the first time in the UFC, which comes after a 1-3-0 run as a featherweight in the promotion. Roop has not been very impressive in his second UFC run and Duran will add to his woe’s when he spoils his UFC Bantamweight Division debut.
Up next is another bantamweight division fight as TJ Dillashaw (6-1-0) stands across the cage from Issei Tamura (7-3-0). Dillashaw enters the fight riding a two fight winning streak, last defeating Vaughan Lee at UFC On Fuel TV IV. Tamura has split both of his UFC fights, defeating Tiequan Zhang and suffering a defeat to Raphael Assuncao. Dillashaw has looked impressive in his last two UFC appearances and he will keep that streak going as he defeats Tamura on Saturday Night.
Headlining this portion of the card is a welterweight division fight as Quinn Mulhern (18-2-0) faces Rick “The Horror†Story (14-6-0). Mulhern will be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he is coming off of an impressive run in Strikeforce. Story has only won one of his last four in UFC competition, with that lone victory coming over Brock Jardine. Story was once considered a top contender in the welterweight division and his hard times will continue at UFC 158 as Mulhern makes a successful UFC debut.
