A welterweight division contest as Thiago Alves will be returning to action after a long layoff to fight Matt Brown. Alves has only won two of his last six fights and he has not competed in well over a year, last fighting Martin Kampmann at UFC On FX II. Brown will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak, most notably defeating Mike Swick at UFC On Fox V. UFC On Fox Sports I #1 takes place on August 17th from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with no headliner announced as of yet.
