A Bellator Welterweight Title defense as champion Ben Askren puts the gold on the line against Andrey Koreshkov. Askren has already defended the championship three times, defeating Jay Hieron, Douglas Lima and Karl Amoussou. Koreshkov earned the title shot after winning the season seven welterweight tournament, defeating Lyman Good in the finals. Bellator 97 takes place on July 31st from the Santa Ana Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico with the aforementioned fighters headlining.
