It only took eleven years, but Josh Barnett is returning to the Ultimate Fighting Championships after signing a multi-fight deal with the promotion. Barnett’s last promotional appearance came at UFC 36, when he won the UFC Heavyweight Title from Randy Couture. Barnett left the promotion after the fight following a failed drug test, which he has protested since the results came out. Barnett last competed at the final Strikeforce event, defeating Nandor Guelmino by submission in the opening round. Barnett is expected to make his promotional return sometime in 2013, but nothing has been officially announced.
