Former UFC and Strikeforce competitor Nick Diaz is officially an MMA promoter and his promotions debut event, WAR MMA I, is set for June 22nd. The promotion is currently looking for a broadcasting home for the event, with UFC veterans Daniel Roberts and Antonio Banuelos competing on the card. Diaz’s promotion will be using a ring instead of a cage and will not allow elbows while on the ground, which is a rule used famously by the Strikeforce promotion. WAR MMA I takes place on June 22nd from the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California with Daniel Roberts and Justin Baseman headlining.
