Following the signed of Quinton Jackson, Bellator has signed another UFC veteran in Cheick Kongo to a multi-fight deal. Kongo opted not to sign a new deal with the UFC prior to a UFC 159 knockout loss to Roy Nelson, instead the fighter lands in Bellator. Kongo has competed under the UFC banner for the last seven years, with notable victories over Mirko Cro Cop, Pat Barry and Matt Mitrione. There is now word yet on when Kongo will make his promotional debut, but it could come sometime in season nine.
