Former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion, UFC veteran and Bellator veteran Renato “Babalu†Sobral has retired from MMA competition. Sobral will retire with a record of 37-11-0 and last competed at Bellator 96, losing to Jacob Noe by third round TKO. Sobral has fought some of the best fighters in MMA history like Dan Henderson, Valentijn Overeem, Maurice Smith, Fedor Emelianenko, Kevin Randleman, Chuck Liddell, Chael Sonnen, Jeremy Horn, Mauricio Rua, Gegard Mousasi and Robbie Lawler. Sobral has been an active professional MMA fighter for almost sixteen years, but does end his career on a two fight losing streak.
