UFC/PRIDE VETERAN GILBERT YVEL RETIRES

Longtime PRIDE and UFC veteran Gilbert Yvel has announced his retirement from MMA, he retires with a record of 38-16-1-1NC. Yvel has been competing for over sixteen years, fighting top names like Semmy Schilt, Dan Henderson, Vitor Belfort, Gary Goodridge, Wanderlei Silva, Don Frye, Jeremy Horn, Cheick Kongo, Valentijn Overeem, Josh Barnett, Pedro Rizzo, Junior Dos Santos, Houston Alexander and a host of others. Yvel was also known for some outrageous actions as a fighter, which includes a time he knocked out a referee on purpose during a fight in Finland. Yvel will retire on a two fight winning streak, his last fight was a victory over UFC veteran Houston Alexander at Resurrection Fighting Alliance IV.
