SEAN SHERK ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT

Former UFC Lightweight Champion Sean Sherk has announced his retirement from MMA competition, he retires with a record of 36-4-1. Sherk won the UFC Lightweight Title when he defeated Kenny Florian at UFC 64, he successfully defended the belt once before losing it to BJ Penn at UFC 84. Throughout his fourteen year career, Sherk fought other great names like Karo Parisyan, Manny Gamburyan, Benji Radach, Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre, Nick Diaz, Hermes Franca, Tyson Griffin, Evan Dunham and Frankie Edgar. Sherk’s last professional MMA fight came at UFC 119 in September 2010, where he defeated Evan Dunham by split decision.
