With Cage Warriors Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor now in the UFC, Cage Warriors officials have decided to hold a four man tournament to crown a new champion. The four tournament participants are going to be Stevie Ray, Ivan Buchinger, Mick Sinclair and Jason Ball, the tournament pairings have yet to be announced.
Ray will actually be making his Cage Warriors debut in the tournament, but has competed against UFC veteran Curt Warburton. Buchinger has won three of four fights under the Cage Warriors banner and has previously fought the aforementioned Conor McGregor. Sinclair has won eight of his last nine bouts, but this tournament will mark his Cage Warriors promotional debut. Ball has split both of his Cage Warriors bouts, plus he has fought UFC veterans Andre Winner, Colin Fletcher and Paul Sass. Cage Warriors 60 takes place on October 5th from The Forum in London, England with Bola Omoyele and Aaron Wilkinson headlining.
