A family matter has caused Shahbulat Shamhalaev off the Bellator 99 card, replacing him against Akop Stepanyan in a featherweight tournament bout with be Justin Wilcox. Stepanyan has only won one of his last three bouts, with that lone win coming over Chris Saunders at Bellator 92. Wilcox will be fighting for the first time since the closure of Strikeforce and will be riding a two fight losing streak. Bellator 99 takes place on September 14th from the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California with Patricio Freire and Diego Nunes headlining.
