Championship Turmoil – Alexander out! Wild Card opportunity! #C4WorldsFinest news update! The following message was received this morning by former C*4 Champion, “Walking Weapon” Josh Alexander:Quote
“Unfortunately I will have to remove myself from next week’s main event rematch versus both "Hacker" Scotty O'shea & "Speedball" Mike Bailey. I would like to apologize to all the fans that may have been looking forward to the match.
For the past 4 years in C*4 I worked hard to have opportunities such as fighting for that championship. But now, over the past year new opportunities have arisen.
Both Ethan Page and I have become a successful tag team throughout North America this past year. As of Monday September 16/2013 we were presented with an opportunity we could not pass up. I'm going to take this opportunity to better myself, my career and come back to C*4 a better competitor.
Opportunities like this don't come all the time. I hope C*4 and its fans will understand, as it is a promotion I've called home for many years. I know the show will be off the hook and something you dare not miss. "Speedball" Mike Bailey is a deserving champion and now as a spectator I hope he comes out on top next weekend.
Have a great show!
Thanks,
Josh Alexander”
As a result of this – C*4 Management recognizes that Alexander has passed up his spot challenging for the C*4 Championship. Furthermore – due to the stipulations of this match – Josh Alexander has forfeited challenging for the C*4 Championship for all of Season 7. While C*4 Management respects Josh Alexander’s decision to take an opportunity to “better himself”, he is walking away from an important match-up, on a major show, with under two weeks to go. This has put match-makers in a very tough spot – as with several other big shows taking place in Quebec and the North Eastern USA, have very little room in terms of adding additional talents to the card or match. However, we have decided that due to Alexander’s choice – we would like to give the opportunity he has passed up on and hand it to a wide open field of C*4 competitors…On Saturday Sept. 28th, “Speedball” Mike Bailey will defend the C*4 Championship against “Hacker” Scotty O’Shea, as well as not one, but TWO WILD CARD CHALLENGERS!Main Event
Fatal Four-Way
*Only time Bailey & O’Shea will be allowed to compete against each other all season.*
C*4 Champion
“Speedball” Mike Bailey
Vs.
“Hacker” Scotty O’Shea
Vs.
Wild Card Challenger #1
Vs.
Wild Card Challenger #2
How will these Wild Card Challengers be determined? Well, these “Wild Cards” will need to prove themselves, and win their way to a championship opportunity…Eight men will be given the chance to win their ways into the main event. Eight men will be randomly divided up into two first rounds, four corner matches. The winners of these two matches will be given challenging spots in the main event. Some of these eight men have appeared and are well known by all C*4 fans, while some are making their debuts, while others making their returns. The first four participants to be announced are:“MVP” Michael Von PaytonAs a result of Ethan Page, along with Josh Alexander, pulling out of this event, Von Payton finds himself without an opponent on Sept. 28th. Without a doubt, a worthy contender, Von Payton is the first name of the “Wild Card” field.“The New Wave” Cheech HernandezA man who was a part of a good chunk of Season 6, Cheech has proven himself a top singles competitor. Cheech will throw his name into the hat of possible Championship challengers. CharadeMaking his C*4 debut is a young man, who returned to the sport earlier this year after a well-documented near-career-ending injury. Charade is the kind of high-flying and death defying young athlete that will find himself right at home in C*4. Without a doubt, Charade will be looking to make an impact on Sept. 28th – and could do just that by climbing to the very top of the C*4 ladder in his debut night!John GreedAnother man, making his debut to the C*4 roster, is one of Ontario’s highest regarded up and comers. Having dominated several pre-show matches throughout Season 6, Greed made his first appearance during the main show in June 2013, when he aligned himself with Alex Vega. Greed will be another man, looking to climb the highest peak in C*4 in his first official outing on the main roster!Wild Card Championship Opportunity
