One time UFC Middleweight Title challenger Yushin Okami has been released by the UFC, he challenged for the gold at UFC 134. Okami went 13-5-0 during his time in the promotion, with notable victories over Alan Belcher, Mike Swick, Evan Tanner, Mark Munoz, Nate Marquardt and Hector Lombard. Okami’s last bout with the promotion came at UFC Ultimate Fight Night 28, he suffered a TKO loss to Ronaldo Souza in that bout. There are rumors going around already that Okami is in talks with the World Series Of Fighting, which is currently holding a tournament to crown their middleweight champion.
