IMPACT ZONE WRESTLING iPPV RECAP

By Drew Archer on 10/1/2013 9:54 AM

“IZW Adrenaline” returned to GFL.tv with another stellar show as all the wrestlers in the Impact Arena were looking to make a statement.  Tons of brawls, fights and all around hell broke loose as these gladiators put their skills to the test in the proving ground that is IZW.  With everyone focused on “Halloween Hangover” on November 2, feuds are already at a boiling point and nobody is safe.  If you missed the show live, no problem as “IZW Adrenaline” is now FREE on GFL.tv every Saturday night and can also be watched on Video on Demand in the days and weeks following the event!

To kick the night off, “Bad” Brad Michaels (@OldSchool_Brad) cut a scathing promo on his arch nemesis “The Old School Sucka” Randy Price.  Michaels belittled Price and mocked his career and then switched the talk up to the Monsters Bash Battle Royal at “Halloween Hangover”.  Michaels insisted he would win the battle royal, becoming the #1 Challenger, and then go on to win the IZW Championship.  This was too much for “The Captain of the Force” Double D (@IZWDoubleD) to sit back and listen to, as D came out to the ring to confront Michaels.  Double D challenged Michaels to a fight right then and there.  Michaels might be a loud mouth, but he’s no punk, and offered to take D on later in the evening in an Over the Top Rope Challenge.  In a precursor for what was to happen on November 2, at the Monsters Bash Battle Royal, these two would use the same rules, but in a singles match.

In the opening match Madame Commissioner Erica (@Lady_Of_Impact), and What Wrestling Should Be: “Larger Than Life” Jermaine Johnson (@JermaineAboutME) & “Lights Out” Jordan Jacobs (@JacobsLightsOut) battled Miss Diss Lexia (@missdiss_lexia), and IZW Tag Team Champions, Team Bull:  The Bronze Bull (@BronzeBull_AN) & “The Brass Bull” Bobby Starr (@thegods_bs) in mixed 6-Person Tag Team Match.  Johnson and Bull tied up first as Johnson grabbed an arm ringer, but the chants of “Diva” towards Johnson stole the moment.  Bull powered out of the arm ringer, hit a few arm drags and tossed Johnson into the corner where The Brass Bull was waiting with a head butt.  Starr tagged in and after clobbering Johnson in the corner with 10 punches, distracted the ref so The Bronze Bull and Miss Diss Lexia could get their pound of flesh and issue out the same 10-punch beat down to Johnson.  After another thrashing by Starr, Johnson somehow found his way to Impact Elite’s corner and tagged in his partner Jacobs.  Jacobs and Starr battled back and forth with punches by Jacobs, a suplex by Starr and an arm ringer by Jacobs until Starr tossed Jacobs off and Erica tagged in.  Starr gave the fans what they wanted and tagged in Miss Diss Lexia as the two women went to battle.  MDL shoved Erica to her backside then wrestled Erica into a headlock before kicking Jacobs in the face and pulling off a hurricanrana-hip toss combo on Johnson and Erica all the while still holding onto Erica with a headlock.  Once on the mat, Erica broke free and ran MDL’s head across the second rope before getting big booted in the face followed by a gut wrench suplex by MDL.  Johnson and Jacobs tried to interfere, but instead each member of Impact Elite was hoisted onto the shoulders of either Team Bull or Miss Diss Lexia.  It looked like it would be a triple Greetings From Mt. Olympus but Impact Elite escaped momentarily until getting hit with a triple spear that sent them all down hard to the floor outside of the ring.  Starr then summersaulted over the top rope onto IE followed by MDL who connected with a splash from the top rope.  The match spilled out to the onstage ramp before MDL and Erica made their way back to the ring where Erica lifted MDL onto her shoulders and slammed her face first onto the mat.  Erica tried to follow up with a torture rack, but MDL snuck in a modified Death Valley driver.  Again, Johnson and Jacobs interfered in the match and they along with Erica fell victim to a triple discus punch and triple Boston crab submissions.  Impact Elite all tapped out and the victory went to Team Bull & MDL who proved to be a force against any and all challengers.

Up next, IZW Impact Division Champion Drake Gallows (@DrakeBmbulmer) battled Angel Camacho (@A_Camacho0986).  After the tie up, Camacho snapped Gallows down to the mat where he controlled the Champion with a tight side headlock.  Gallows broke free and fired off some right hands until Camacho once again grounded him with a front face lock.  Gallows got to his feet but was hit with a standing splash as he fell to the canvas once again.  Later, Camacho showed off his strength advantage by tossing Gallows over the top rope on two separate occasions.  As Gallows picked himself off the mat, Camacho taunted the crowd.  Once Gallows was back in the ring, Camacho missed with an atomic butt drop which gave Gallows the opening he needed to get back into the match.  But even three kicks to Camacho’s face could not slow down the self-proclaimed “Big, Bad and Sexy” Angel Camacho.  Camacho gave Gallows an up close and personal experience with Camacho’s posterior as Camacho smashed his backside into Gallows face in the corner of the ring.  Finally, Gallows escaped the corner with a tornado DDT followed by a flying clothesline from the top rope and a moonsault from the top rope that got the pinfall against the dangerous Camacho in a stunning turn of events.

Double D and Brad Michaels had their Over the Top Rope Challenge next.  D and Michaels immediately tried to throw one another over the top rope but with both wrestlers at full strength neither one was able to get the other one off his feet.  D landed two knees in the corner followed by a springboard missile drop kick as Michaels was hurt and grabbed the bottom rope in hopes of bracing himself from being picked up and thrown over the top rope.  Later, Michaels hit a body slam but Double D’s cat-like reflexes kept him from being tossed out of the ring.  Michaels did manage to kick Double D all the way out to the steel steps, but D kept both feet off of the ground and was still in the match.  Shortly after, Double D lit Michaels up with chops, including the Force chop which sent Michaels skyrocketing to the top rope.  Later, D took a risk by giving Michaels a hurricanrana from the middle of the top rope. It connected and sent Michaels spiraling to the ropes but a forearm to the chest by Michaels seconds later had D outside of the ring, balancing on the ring apron and almost falling over the top rope.  Michaels next tried to sling shot Double D over the top rope, but even that failed as D was unyielding in his objective to defeat Michaels.  Double D did just that as he somersaulted his way back into the ring and when Michaels was up against the ropes, D connected with a flying knee to the jaw that toppled Michaels and sent the Old School Assassin up and over the top rope.

It was the battle of masked wrestlers as The Convict took on the returning Midnite Rider.  In the beginning, Rider connected with punches and even a running clothesline but nothing could take The Convict off of his feet.  Convict retaliated with a clothesline of his own and dropped Rider with one shot.  The Convict locked on a vice grip to Rider’s head but Rider managed to break free and hit Convict with three left hand jabs and a bionic elbow that dropped Convict for the first time in the bout.  Convict bounced up immediately when Rider connected with two big boots and a running elbow but was crushed with a standing splash by Convict.  Convict then hit a running splash in the corner followed by a 15 to 20 that ended Rider’s night just as quickly as it began.

In the main event, “Big Business” Damon Windsor (@DamonWindsor) took on “The Image of Fear” Kevin Morgan (@TheImageofWar) in an Impact Rules Match.  Windsor started the match off by bringing in a steel chair to the ring.  Windsor dropped the chair in the middle of the ring as if he was dangling a carrot in front of Morgan.  Morgan brought in a chair of his own and the two men swung for the fences as both chairs crashed into each other.  The chairs hit the floor and Windsor and Morgan started trading haymakers in the center of the ring.  Windsor muscled Morgan into a corner where he poked Morgan in the eyes, a totally legal move in this match.  Morgan responded with kicks to the stomach of Windsor followed by looping punches that caught Windsor flush in the jaw before tossing him over the top rope.  Morgan dropped an axe handle from the ring apron before putting skull on skull with a massive head butt.  Windsor changed the momentum by reversing Morgan into the steel steps and hurling him into the metal guard rail.  Windsor then tossed Morgan over the guard rail as their match spilled out into the audience.  Morgan tried to change the pace of the match by tossing Windsor into a concrete wall, but then missed with a running head butt as his own head met the wall full force.  Morgan finally turned the tide when he big booted Windsor over the guard rail, getting the action back near the ring.  Morgan tossed Windsor back into the ring, but as Morgan tried to climb over the top rope and enter the ring himself, Windsor kicked the steel cable ropes straight into Morgan’s unmentionables.  Windsor did it again before flat out kicking Morgan in the same spot seconds later.  Windsor teased another kick to the groin but instead dropped a fist in the same sensitive region before being suplexed by Morgan.  Later, Morgan dropped Windsor seconds later with a running clothesline that nearly sawed Windsor in half.  Morgan then locked on a submission where he put pressure on Windsor’s back before going back to his bread and butter by punching and kicking Windsor in the head.  When Windsor rose to his feet he somehow managed to connect with a spinning side slam.  As Windsor waited for Morgan to rise to his feet, What Wrestling Should Be ran down to the ring and put a beating on Windsor and since this was an Impact Rules Match, there was no disqualification.  WWSB connected with a Minority Cutter just as Team Bull came down to the ring to even up the odds.  Team Bull chased WWSB out of the ring leaving only Morgan and Windsor.  That was until Drake Gallows made his return and destroyed Morgan with a chair shot to the head, one to the ribs and one to the back before dropping the big man with a belt shot to the head from Gallows’ Impact Division Title.  Windsor climbed up to the top rope and connected with the BFE sending Morgan into a semi-coma as Windsor picked up the win in a wild finish.
