Welcome to another edition of the TCW report. This was a good edition of the broadcast, so let’s not waste any more time.
Jon Omari vs. John Saxon
This was a fine match-up, notable for the excellent showing from Saxon. Methodically paced with lots of back-and-forth action, this match ended with a Tiger Driver and a Texas Cloverleaf, by Saxon, for the win. Also, Kincaid, who is embroiled in the Junior Heavyweight Title feud with Saxon, sat ringside to sell their feud during the off week of their Best of 7 Series.
Winner: John Saxon – Submission
Backstage: Greg Anthony is complaining to Col. Tom Parker (but not Elvis) about how he’s been treated the front office. Therefore, Parker books him in a match with Tracy Smothers, who Anthony remarks is middle-aged crazy. Afterwards, Sigmon enters and introduces his new bodyguard/protégé. It was a nice little segment that didn’t go too long.
Greg Anthony vs. Tracy Smothers
This was a very good match that was wrestled in the old-school fashion. Smothers looked as top of his game as someone that is past their prime could look. If you are looking for a match-up that is far removed from the WWE style, then this is a fine place to start.
Winner: Greg Anthony – Submission
Backstage: Genetic Perfection cut a promo to discuss getting back together to take on the Hounds of Hell. This was a nice little promo that clearly set up the continuation of the feud.
Next Week: Genetic Perfection vs. Titan – Handicap Match
Mr. Wrestling 3 vs. Scott Phoenix
This was another great match that was wrestled in the old-school fashion. Phoenix is a phenomenal athlete with tremendous potential and it shined through here with this match. I don’t know if Mr. Wrestling 3 was Steve Corino or not, but MRW3 was very good here, nonetheless.
Scott Phoenix – Pin-fall
Afterwards, Lance Hoyt beats down Phoenix (likely because Hoyt’s an asshole). A very well done brawl ended a good show.
