10/12 BIG TIME WRESTLING RESULTS FROM BRISTOL, CT

By Derrick Greene on 10/13/2013 1:19 PM

I attended the Big Time Wrestling show fundraiser four the pop warner football team in Bristol, CT at Eastern High(my alma mater).

The card included Kevin Nash, Mickie James, And Tito Santana. Oddest thin was the autograph line was absurdly long for James, Tito a distant second, and Nash a faraway third.  By the way Mickie is even hotter in person.

Hot crowd for such a small one(topping at about 375, including staff).

Opening match.
Adorable Danny Miles vs. Sweet Scott Ashworth.

Miles, who makes Orlando Jordan look butch, and Ashworth was an odd style clash as it seemed like gay two gimmicks just didn't work. Turns out Ashworth was more a Dusty Rhodes type. Five minutes after the bell rings no contact and I'm already bored. Ashworth is way over though. Miles bumps well. DDT by Answorth foir the win. 20 minutes of ring time with all of 4 minutes of contact. Ughhh! Bu Ash did the JYD gimmick of dancing with kids in the ring which did get the show off well.

Match two.
Mister T.A. vs. Todo Loco.

Worst Lucharing gear ever made worse by the fact it was  portrayed by a white guy. Forced heat by Ashworth on T.A. but he kept it. Good job on his part. Nice plancha by Loco but barricades are so close to the ring it seemed very dangerous. This T.A. guy is definitely older but is a good heel and works good and stiff. Worst flying drop kick ever as Locos feet glanced T.A.' s shoulder, who comes right up and won with some kind drop. Best thing about this was T.A. reminded me of Kevin Sullivan.

Match three.
Damien Darling vs. Tito Santana.

Stupid racial jokes to promote a Mexican restaurant in Bristol. The free food served was delicious. Tito still looks good (take notes  Ric Flair). Tito stomps on unknown managers hands four times. Slow start but Tito is way over. More race baiting by Darling. Tito teases the fivearm but won with a rollup after unknown manger's interference backfired. Good job as a heel by Darling and was a good throwback to the 80's match. Darling deserves a look.

Match four.
Mdianne vs. Mickie James.

A Canadian manager trying to get face heat only to to turn right away? Huh? Ummm... Mickie James in person? Won't need a DVD when I get home. Midiannes gimmick is whistle. Unknown manager and Midi are from Quebec. Unknown is a bit of a doofas. Not sure its on purpose so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. Midianne totally botched an armbar takedown bump. Also two terrible hurricanrana botches. She is greener than were trunks however she had a helluva submission move I never saw before. It was a surfboard type thing with her legs scissoring Mickie from behind and applying pressure. It looked great. Unknown tries to interfere buts gets one from Mickie. Spin kick on Midianne and a 1 2 3. Despite Midianne greenness, best match so far. Mickie made it feel like a big time show. She posed with fans for 30 minutes but was only supposed to be 15. God, I wished I brought my credit card. Did I mention she was obscenely hot. Best looking I've seen in person( serb Miss Wilson).

Match five.
Triple threat. Gregory Edwards vs. Bobby Ocean vs. Diamondback Jack Maverick.

Another effete gimmick in Edwards(I counted four), but at least claimed to be a ladies man. Punch by Jack missed Ocean by three feet and he still had to sell it. Ocean has an Elix Skipper look to him. The panned spots look like they were blood on the fly. Great flip kick by Ocean also a beautiful European forearm. Mishmosh finish with Jack getting the win. Ocean also should be looked at.

Main event.
Todd He son and Bam Bam Shaw vs. Flex Armstrong and Kevin Hast.
Flex looks great and He son is a Brody- like beast. Shaw is not near Gordy or Bigelow. He should have his name stripe ripped of his sleeve. Flex is very fluid in the ring for a muscular guy. Ash looks great and sold alt for an indy show. Couple of hot tags. Henson with an airplane spin powerslam thing that looked dizzying and awesome. Flex won for his team with a Snuka splash. Lots of missed spots by heels, but still fun and Nas gave Flex a good rub. He son definitely deserves a look and somebody needs to get Flex to Full Sail University right away. He was that good.
Overall a good show that was poorly promoted(roadsigns and a couple of store windows). But I was fun and there were some talents who absolutely deserve a real look for the big time.
