The Maximum Fighting Championships Heavyweight Title will be defended at MFC 39 as champion Anthony Hamilton defends against UFC veteran Darrill Schoonover. Hamilton will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Smealinho Rama at MFC 38. Schoonover will enter the fight riding a three fight winning streak, which includes a victory over UFC veteran Paul Buentello. Maximum Fighting Championships 39 takes place on January 17th from the Northlands Expo Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with Kurt Southern and Tom Gallicchio headlining.
