Joe Ellenberger, the younger brother of UFC veteran Jake Ellenberger has signed a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championships, his current MMA record is 14-1-0. Ellenberger survived a very rare disease that effects and eliminates red blood cells that is known as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria and was not expected to live past the age of 30.
However, Ellenberger not only defeated the disease, but worked his way back to becoming an MMA fighter and now has been signed by the UFC. Thus far in his eight year MMA career, Ellenberger has defeated the likes of Joe Wilk, James Warfield and Justin Salas. No official debut date has been set yet for Ellenberger, but rumors suggest he will debut either March or April of this year.
