UFC FIGHT NIGHT 35 FIGHT PASS PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 1/12/2014 5:28 PM

Following a successful first event of 2014 on the UFC Fight Pass network, the UFC will air its first event on Fox Sports 1 this coming Wednesday. The event will be headlined by a key middleweight division contest as Luke Rockhold faces Constantinos Philippou. The UFC Fight Pass portion of the preliminary card will feature a pair of fights, with Charlie Brenneman making his UFC return.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division attraction as Charlie “The Spaniard” Brenneman (19-5-0) battles Beneil Dariush (6-0-0). Brenneman has been undefeated in between UFC appearances, winning the Cage Fury Fighting Championships Lightweight Title as well. Dariush will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Respect In The Cage promotion. Brenneman has been itching to get back into the UFC and he will scratch that itch when he defeats Dariush.

Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Vinc “From Hell” Pichel (7-1-0) faces Garett Whiteley (7-1-0). Pichel is currently winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Rustam Khabilov at the UFC Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale. Whiteley is also winless under the UFC banner, having dropped a fight to Alan Patrick Silva Alves at UFC Fight Night 29. This is a must win situation for both competitors, but it will be Pichel getting the much needed win in the end.
