UFC 169 UFC FIGHT PASS PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 1/29/2014 1:57 PM

The first UFC pay-per-view of 2014 is upon us and the event will be headlined by a pair of championship bouts. There will be three preliminary card bouts airing on UFC Fight Pass, which will also be the first time UFC pay-per-view preliminary card bouts have aired on the online network. Those three bouts will definitely be worth checking out, with a key welterweight division bout on the card.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division bout as Neil Magny (8-3-0) battles Gasan “Cobra” Umalatov (14-2-1). Magny will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, dropping fights to both Sergio Moraes and Seth Baczynski. Umalatov will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he does so after winning eight of his last nine bouts. Magny has been struggling as of late and his struggles will continue as Umalatov makes a successful UFC debut.

Up next is a welterweight division attraction as Rashid Magomedov (15-1-0) takes on Tony Martin (8-0-0). Magomedov will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is also the current M-1 Global Welterweight Champion. Martin will also be making his UFC debut in this fight, but he has previously defeated UFC veteran Phillipe Nover. These are two impressive competitors making their UFC debuts, but it will be the former champ in Magomedov getting the win.

Headlining this portion of the card is a middleweight division affair as Andy “Tank Mode” Enz (7-0-0) faces Clint Hester (9-3-0). Enz will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the Alaska Fighting Championships. Hester is currently undefeated under the UFC banner, having defeated both Bristol Murande and Dylan Andrews. Hester is quickly becoming a top prospect in the middleweight division and his stock will rise when he defeats the undefeated Enz.
