UFC 170 FIGHT PASS PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 2/19/2014 1:10 PM

Concluding another big weekend of MMA action will be a loaded UFC 170 pay-per-view, with a pair of Olympians in the main event. That is because UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be defending the gold against Sara McMann. There are a pair of preliminary card fights airing on UFC Fight Pass, including the lightweight debut of Erik Koch.

Kicking off the action is a welterweight division attraction as Ernest “EJ” Chavez (6-0-0) battles Yosdenis “Pink Panther” Cedeno (9-2-0). Chavez will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a longtime veteran of the BAMMA USA promotion. Cedeno will be making his UFC debut in this fight as well, plus he has previously fought UFC veteran Jonathan Brookins. Cedeno has fought far better competition when compared to Chavez and that experience will carry him to a win in his UFC debut.

Headlining this portion of the card is a lightweight division bout as Erik “New Breed” Koch (13-3-0) faces Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira (17-7-0). Koch will be making his UFC Lightweight Division debut in this fight after going 2-2-0 as a featherweight in the UFC. Oliveira has won one of four fights under the UFC banner, with that lone win coming over Yoislandy Izqueirdo at UFC 148. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one, but it will be Koch making a successful divisional debut.
