The Maximum Fighting Championships Middleweight Title will be defended at MFC 40 as champion Sam Alvey defends against Wes Swofford. Alvey will be making the first defense of his championship, which he won by defeating Jason South at MFC 38. Swofford is currently undefeated in MFC competition, having defeated UFC veteran Jay Silva at MFC 36. Maximum Fighting Championships 40 takes place on May 9th from the Shaw Convention Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada with the aforementioned fight headlining.
