Longtime UFC and Bellator veteran Jay Hieron has announced his retirement from MMA, his record was 23-7-0. Hieron's biggest career success came in the Bellator promotion, where he won the season four welterweight tournament, but then lost to welterweight champion Ben Askren at Bellator 56. Hieron also had three separate runs in the UFC, going winless in all four fights, but he did fight former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre at UFC 48. Hieron's last professional MMA fight came at UFC 156, where he was knocked out by Tyron Woodley in under a minute.
