UFC FIGHT NIGHT 38 FIGHT PASS PRELIMINARY CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 3/20/2014 8:15 AM

A rematch from one of the greatest bouts in UFC history will be headlining a rare Sunday card from the UFC. That is because a rematch between Dan Henderson and Mauricio Rua will headline the UFC Fight Night 38 card. There are also a pair of preliminary card bouts airing on UFC Fight Pass, including Brazilian favorite Godofredo Pepey in action.

Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division affair as Francimar “Bodao” Barroso (16-3-0) battles Hans Stringer (21-5-3). Barroso is currently undefeated in UFC competition, having defeated Ednaldo Oliveira by decision at UFC 163. Stringer will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the World Series Of Fighting promotion. Barroso looked pretty good in his UFC debut and he will look even better in his sophomore effort when he defeats Stringer.

Headlining this portion of the card is a featherweight division attraction as Noad “Neo” Lahat (7-0-0) faces Godofredo Pepey (9-3-0). Lahat will be making his UFC debut in this fight and he has only competed one time in the last three years. Pepey has won just one of four fights under the UFC banner, with that lone victory coming over Milton Vieira at UFC On FX VII. Pepey has not lived up to his potential in the UFC thus far, but he will take a step in the right direction when he defeats the inactive Lahat.
