Following the promotion of TJ Dillashaw to the main event, Francisco Rivera has agreed to step in on short notice to fight Takeya Mizugaki at UFC 173. Rivera has been undefeated in his second UFC run, last defeating George Roop by TKO at UFC Fights For The Troops III. Mizugaki will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak, with a notable victory over Erik Perez at UFC Fight Night 27. UFC 173 takes place on May 24th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada with Renan Barao and TJ Dillashaw headlining.
