LEGACY FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIPS 30 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 4/4/2014 11:48 AM

Finishing off another weekend of action will be another card from the Legacy Fighting Championships, with a big time main event. The event will be headlined by the crowning of the first Legacy FC Women's Bantamweight Champion as Holly Holm faces Juliana Werner. Also, well traveled MMA veterans Flavio Alvaro and Donald Sanchez compete, plus other top prospects are in action.

Kicking off the action is a lightweight division attraction as Lenny “The Godfather” Lovato (8-2-0) competes against Kamarudeen “Marty” Usman (3-1-0). Lovato will enter the fight riding a two fight losing streak, with one of those losses coming to UFC veteran Gabe Ruediger. Usman is currently undefeated in Legacy FC competition, having defeated Steven Rodriguez at Legacy FC 27. Lovato is one a bad streak in his career right now and that bad streak is going to continue when Usman defeats him.

A pair of welterweights will collide next as Clint Roberts (4-2-0) is in action against Martin Sano (3-0-0). Roberts will enter the fight riding a two fight winning streak and only one of his career fights have gone past the opening round. Sano will be making his Legacy FC debut in this fight and he is returning to action after a near one year absence. This is a battle of two top MMA prospects, but it will be Roberts ending the undefeated streak of Sano in the end.

Bantamweights will be stepping into the cage next as Enrique “Henry Bure” Briones (13-4-0) does battle against Adrian “Killa” Cruz (5-1-0). Briones will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak and he has not lost a fight in nearly three years. Cruz will be looking to rebound from his first professional MMA defeat, which came to Jesse Brock at Bellator 105. Cruz has fought far better competition when compared to Briones and that experience will get him the win.

The flyweight division will be featured next as Ray Borg (5-0-0) stands across the cage from Nick Urso (7-1-0). Borg will be making his Legacy FC debut in this fight and he has only had one career fight go to the judge's scorecard. Urso will enter the fight riding a six fight winning streak and he is a veteran of the Jackson's MMA Series. These are two of the better unsigned flyweights in MMA right now and it will be Borg staying undefeated in the end.

Up next is a featherweight division affair as Flavio “The Legendary” Alvaro (46-10-0) battles Donald Sanchez (29-13-0). Alvaro will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and he competed less than a month ago at an XFC International MMA event. Sanchez is coming off of a long run in the King Of The Cage promotion, where he won well over ten fights in the promotion. These are two of the more well-traveled MMA veteran who deserve a shot at the big time and it will be Sanchez getting that shot after the win.

Headlining this card is a bout for the vacant Legacy FC Women's Bantamweight Title as Juliana “Julie” Werner (7-3-0) faces “The Preachers Daughter” Holly Holm (6-0-0). Werner will enter the fight riding a five fight winning streak and all of her losses have come to Invicta FC veteran Vanessa Porto. Holm has won her two previous fights in Legacy FC, last defeating Nikki Knudsen at Legacy Fighting Championships 24. Holm has been ready for the big time in MMA for a while now and she will get closer to that big time when she defeats Werner for the gold.
