CAGE WARRIORS FIGHT NIGHT 11 PREVIEW

By David Tees on 4/15/2014 10:41 AM

For the second straight week, there will be another Cage Warriors card featuring some of the best international talent in action. The event will be headlined by a key welterweight division bout as Jack Mason battles Patrick Vallee. Also, top prospects like Jack Hermansson, Michael Johnson and Arnold Allen are all stepping into the cage.

Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division affair as Ihab Janeb (1-0-0) competes against Michael Ravenscroft (1-1-0). Janeb is returning to competition after an almost three year absence, last competing at Cage Warriors Fight Night II. Ravenscroft will be returning to action after an eight year absence and he has not won a fight in a decade. This bout has disaster written all over it, but it will be the undefeated Janeb getting the duke in the end.

A pair of featherweights will collide next as Steve Aimable (1-1-0) will be in action against Wael Korked (0-0-0). Aimable has only competed once in the last two years, which was a loss to Corrin Eaton at British Challenge MMA VI. Korked will be making his professional MMA debut in this fight, but he has competed as an amateur competitor. Korked is making his pro debut against the right opponent and he will defeat Aimable to have a successful pro debut.

The welterweight division will be featured next as John “The Baby Faced Assassin” Redmond (5-7-0) does battle against Craig “The Thundercat” White (6-5-0). Redmond has only won two of his last eight bouts, with one of those losses coming in the Cage Warriors promotion. White has only won just one of his last five fights and this will be his first bout in a little over a full year. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one, but it will be Redmond shocking White to get the win.

More featherweight action will be happening next as “Almighty” Arnold Allen (6-0-0) dukes it out with Tobias “Thiago” Huber (5-4-0). Allen has already competed three times in Cage Warriors and only one of his professional MMA bouts went to a decision. Huber has won four of his last five bouts heading into his Cage Warriors debut and he is a veteran of Shooto Germany. Allen is quickly becoming a top contender in the featherweight division and he will climb the ladder further when he defeats Huber.

Another welterweight division bout is next as Tahar Hadbi (9-5-0) stands across the cage from Micahel “Black Death” Johnson (9-6-0). Hadbi will be returning to action after a two year layoff and he is a veteran of the 100% Fight promotion. Johnson has won four of his last five heading into his Cage Warriors debut, plus he has fought in the BAMMA promotion. Johnson had a steller run while in BAMMA and he will start of his Cage Warriors run with a stellar win over Hadbi.

Middleweight division action is on the card next as Jack “The Hammer” Hermansson (6-2-0) battles Ion Pascu (8-4-0). Hermansson is currently undefeated in Cage Warriors competition, last defeating Enoc Solves Torres at Cage Warriors 66. Pascu will be making his Cage Warriors debut in this fight and he is a veteran of the UK-based BAMMA promotion. Hermansson has looked unstoppable thus far in his Cage Warriors run and he will look good again when he defeats Pascu.

Up next is a bantamweight division battle as Brian “The Pikeman” Moore (7-3-0) takes on Marat Pekov (11-5-0). Moore is currently winless under the Cage Warriors banner, having dropped a fight to Dave Hill at Cage Warriors 59. Pekov has won just one of three in Cage Warriors competition, with one of those losses coming to Bellator veteran Ronnie Mann. This is a must win situation for both competitors, but it will be Pekov getting the win to remain viable in the promotion.

Headlining this card is a welterweight division match up as Jack “The Stone” Mason (26-13-0) faces Patrick “Dexter” Vallee (10-5-1-2NC). Mason has won five of seven fights in his second Cage Warriors run, but he is coming off of a loss to UFC veteran Ben Alloway. Vallee has won two of his last three heading into his Cage Warriors debut, with that lone loss coming to UFC veteran Paul Daley. Mason is one of the top competitors in Cage Warriors right now and he will show why as he defeats Vallee in this one.
