BELLATOR 119 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 5/6/2014 10:28 PM

Despite losing the middleweight tournament finals, the Bellator 119 card will still be an event worth checking out. The event will be headlined by the season ten featherweight tournament finals as Desmond Green faces Daniel Weichel. Also, Chris Horodecki faces Marlon Sandro and Strikeforce vet Marius Zaromskis will be competing as well.

Kicking off the action is a heavyweight division affair as Raphael “The Silencer” Butler (8-0-0) competes against Nick “Leatherface” Rossborough (23-18-0). Butler has won three previous fights under the Bellator banner, most notably defeating Josh Burns at Bellator 107. Rossborough has only won one of his last three bouts and he has previously fought UFC veteran Lorenz Larkin. Butler has a very bright future ahead of him in Bellator and he will show why when he defeats Rossborough.

A pair of welterweights are set to collide next as Marius “The Whitemare” Zaromskis (19-8-0-1NC) battles Vaughn “Blud” Anderson (16-2-1). Zaromskis is a Strikeforce veteran who is returning after a year layoff and he made it to the semi-finals of the season seven welterweight tournament. Anderson competed in the season nine welterweight tournament, losing to UFC veteran War Machine in the opening round. The winner of this bout should get another tournament opportunity and it will be Anderson shocking Zaromskis to get the victory.

Up next is a featherweight division attraction as “The Polish Hammer” Chris Horodecki (20-4-1-1NC) takes on Marlon “The Gladiator” Sandro (24-5-1). Horodecki is returning to Bellator after a two year absence and he has only won one of three in the promotion. Sandro has competed in multiple Bellator tournaments, making it to the finals of the season seven tournament. This is a must win situation if either competitor wants to remain viable in Bellator and it will be Horodecki getting that key win.

Headlining this card is the season ten featherweight tournament finals as Daniel “The Weasel” Weichel (33-8-0) faces Desmond “The Predator” Green (11-2-0). Weichel punched his ticket to the tournament finals after getting wins over Scott Cleve and Matt Bessette. Green was able to call himself a tournament finalist after defeating Mike Richman and Will Martinez. Green has been using his solid wrestling skills to get this far and than skills will carry him to win the tournament.
