For the first time in what seems like forever, there will not be a Bellator Fighting Championships event on a Friday Night. That is because the Titan Fighting Championships 28 card, headlined by Jason Brilz and Raphael Davis, will be taking the Friday Night slot. There are three preliminary card fights streaming on CBSSports.com, with a UFC veteran in the featured spot.
Kicking off the action is a light heavyweight division fight as John “Section 8†Bryant (7-5-0) battles Matt Foster (6-5-0). Bryant is returning to action after a two-plus year absence, but he is a veteran of the Bellator Fighting Championships. Foster is currently undefeated in Titan FC competition, having defeated Matt Uhde at Titan Fighting Championships 24. This is a must win situation for both competitors in this one, but it will be the more active Foster getting the win.
Up next is a featherweight division affair as David Nelson (1-1-0) takes on Gaston “Tonga†Reyno (0-0-0-1NC). Nelson will be looking to build on the momentum of his first professional MMA win, which came over Rene Garcia at Xtreme Fight Night 15. Reyno started off his pro career in auspicious fashion, fighting Maximilliano Alfonso to a no contest at Gladiators MMA I. This is as much of a pick 'em as two fighters who are making their pro debut, but it will be Nelson getting his second pro win.
Headlining this portion of the card is a flyweight division attraction as Pedro “The Rock†Nobre (15-1-2) faces Dan O' Connor (4-1-0-1NC). Nobre has been undefeated since his UFC release, which came after a no contest against Yuri Alcantara at UFC On FX VII. O'Connor will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and none of his professional MMA fights have gone to a decision. Nobre has fought far superior competition than who he faces in the Titan FC cage and Nobre will leave with a victory.
