RESURRECTION FIGHTING ALLIANCE 15 MAIN CARD PREVIEW

By David Tees on 6/3/2014 9:20 PM

With two MMA events on Friday and two MMA events on Saturday, it is good to know that another top notch card from the Resurrection Fighting Alliance is closing out the Friday line up. The event will be headlined by a bout for the vacant RFA Middleweight Title as Kevin Casey faces Andrew Sanchez. Also, the brother of a former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and the son of a legendary MMA trainer are in action.

Kicking off the action is a middleweight division fight as John Hackleman Jr. (2-0-0) competes against Justin Jones (1-0-0). Hackleman Jr. is the son of legendary MMA trainer John Hackleman and he made his RFA debut at RFA 12, defeating Howard Lacroix in eleven seconds. Jones made his professional MMA debut earlier this year, defeating Paul Gemmati at Badbeat MMA 12. Hackleman Jr. has a lot of momentum after his successful RFA debut and his momentum will build as he defeats Jones.

A pair of featherweights will collide next as Chinzo Machida (1-1-0) does battle against Dmitry Gerasimov (3-1-0). Machida is currently undefeated in RFA competition and he is the brother of former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida. Gerasimov is also undefeated under the RFA banner, having defeated Jordan Isordia by submission at RFA 12. Machida shocked the world when he defeated Brian Wood at RFA 11, but his luck will run out as Gerasimov gets the win.

More featherweight division action is happening next as Daniel Aguiar (7-2-0) is in action against Samuel Toomer III (7-0-0). Aguiar is currently undefeated in RFA competition, having defeated Tyler Toner by submission at RFA 14. Toomer III will be making his RFA debut in this fight, but he is a longtime veteran of the Xplode Fight Series promotion. Aguiar shocked the MMA world when he upset UFC veteran Tyler Toner at RFA 14 and his roll will continue as he defeats Toomer III.

Welterweight division action will be taking place next as James Moontasri (5-1-0) battles Jordan Rinaldi (7-3-0). Moontasri is currently undefeated under the RFA banner, last defeating Rick Reger by submission at RFA 12. Rinaldi has won one of three bouts in RFA competition and he was a cast member on the UFC Ultimate Fighter 15. Moontasri is quickly building himself into a contender in the RFA and his status in the division will rise as he defeats Rinaldi.

Up next is a middleweight division bout as Alan Jouban (8-2-0) will be taking on Ricky Legere Jr. (17-4-0). Jouban has won two of three fights under the RFA banner, with that lone loss coming to UFC veteran Mike Rhodes. Legere Jr. will enter the fight riding a seven fight winning streak and he has not lost a bout in over four years. The winner of this fight should get the next shot at the RFA Middleweight Title and it will be Legere Jr. getting that shot.

Headlining this card is a bout for the vacant RFA Middleweight Title as Kevin Casey (7-2-0) faces Andrew Sanchez (5-1-0). Casey is a UFC veteran who is also undefeated in RFA banners, last defeating Eddie Mendez at RFA 12. Sanchez is also undefeated in RFA competition, most notably defeating Todd Meredith by TKO at RFA 11. Casey has faced far superior competition when compared to Sanchez and that experience will get him the gold.
